Frost Season

frost crystals push the dirt up

In  the  morning  when I step outside I feel the cold air on my face and hear the fosted leaves crunch under my feet.   I put on my hat and sweater and run through the frozen grass and leaves.  Crunch, Crunch, Crunch.  It sounds almost like waves crashing on a beach.  (This makes me think of Hawaii!!)
This point of the season the frost makes me think about sipping tea and baking cookies and going on vacation and having slumber parties on weekends. And looking at snow flakes!

Here is a poem I wrote:

Frost season is season right after Fall
Right after the time it rains
Oh so close to Winter, it is cold outside
Say, what do you say about sipping tea?
Turning the season from autum to frost season.

When frost season is here, I like to take pictures and look at the stars.  I like looking all around me and comparing things.  I like watching movies when the frost season comes.
When frost season comes I know it is time for sweaters, jackets, coats and books.  Time for hats and mittens.  Time to slow down.

Here is a Haiku by my Mom:

Berries are frozen
Crunch crunch go leaves on the ground
the world is frosted
